This Senior Additional Dwelling Unit (ADU) is a residential design concept developed to support aging-in-place within a comfortable, accessible, and thoughtfully designed environment. Designed as a 1,000 square foot detached unit, the space accommodates a senior couple on a fixed income, prioritizing functionality, adaptability, and compliance with updated zoning and accessibility requirements.

The design focuses on creating a seamless and non-institutional atmosphere by discreetly integrating accessible features and future assistive elements into the overall aesthetic. A modern American design approach is expressed through refined millwork, layered lighting, and carefully selected sustainable materials, resulting in a space that feels both practical and elevated. By balancing long-term usability with comfort and visual cohesion, the project redefines accessible living as an experience that is both supportive and inviting.
